ULY: PAK IT IN | REVIEW

– THE CHARM OFFENSIVE –

Uly is the brainchild of Rafino M.J. Murphy – an astrophysics graduate turned producer out of Dublin.

Having previously released music under the monikers of Milestones, DAVIIS, Over Being Under and INNRSPACE he struck a deal with Faction Records in March of last year and, ever since, has been building quite the reputation for both his characterful live shows and the low-fi cool of his bedroom recordings.

Pak It In is one of the tracks that has helped him to do that.

A track that is both funky and flamboyant, I love the groove, I love the horns and I love the sweet falsettos in the vocals.

And, yes, I’m pretty sure the misspelled ‘Pak’ in the title is designed to draw attention to one of his influences.

The best way to get hold of more of his stuff is by checking out his Facebook page where he’s currently promoting 100 CDs that include “Everything So Far’ or catching him on the 45 RPM playlist below of course.
