– GUERRILLA WARFARE –
“One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star” said existential philosopher and bit-of-a-weirdo, Friedrich Nietzsche.
And while ol’ Freddy wasn’t entirely the nicest of blokes, he certainly did me the service of coming up with a lovely quote to both make me sound a bit brainy and also to encapsulate what is going on in this new track by Loelash. @Fred – all is forgiven for the whole ‘God is dead’ malarkey, mate.
Italy born, London-based producer Loelash specialises in the sort of bananas production that bends genres to breaking point and bangs around your brain for a few days while you try to work it all out.
On Chaos, what starts out as a straight-forward dance track turns into a journey through baile funk, trap beats and neo garage. I’m hearing influences as diverse as KAYTRANADA and Sam Gellaitry.
His debut EP, Prisma was released last year and more is apparently in the pipeline. So, watch this space, we could be witnessing the birth of a dancing star.
