BRYONY JARMAN-PINTO: SUNKISSED | REVIEW

– THE CHARM OFFENSIVE –

London’s own Bryony Jarman-Pinto delivers a sublime, summer-ready slice of Soulquarian neo-soul on this– her first release from her forthcoming debut album Cage and Aviary.

The vocalist and songwriter has been generating a deservingly-delirious amount of music-biz buzz from the likes of Lauren Laverne (BBC 6Music) and Jamz Supernova (BBC 1Xtra).

And Sunkissed is the latest track to tickle our suitably tantalised taste-buds.

Full of Palladino-like bass noodlings and ?uesto-style cross-stick snares, it really could be an outtake from Baduizm or D’Angelo’s Voodoo – except that a track this fly could never have fallen anywhere near the cutting-room floor.

The tasteful reedsmanship on the middle eight lends the track a sweet lounge jazz aesthetic to dovetail directly with Jarman-Pinto’s chocolatey-smooth tones.

Cage and Aviary will be released on 16th August.
